For someone who knows that UH1H "Huey" helicopters are deadly war machines flown in battles against insurgents in the countryside, I find it absolutely weird that I see one of them sitting in a museum for kids. No, it didn't matter that they have repainted the thing with kiddy colors and designs.
Yet, it now sits prettily in the museum, amusing innocent kids who finally see a real helicopter.
Why bother !?! It's the protective Daddy that does not feel comfortable.
Hi Friends at Museo Pambata! Thanks for educating me about the background of the war helicopter in the children's museum. The intention is noble. I would have written my post very differently had I seen an account of that in a small billboard near that helicopter.
ReplyDeleteA small billboard explaining the rationale would help parents explain to kids what that war helicopter is doing in that Museum. If you would consider that as an unsolicited advise, then that would be greatly appreciated.
Hi again! There are actually standing tarps explaining the background of the Palipalaruan within the playground. I noticed in your pictures that when you visited the museum, the playground was fenced in. At that time, we were either letting the grass grow or repairs were being made in one of the swings. That must be the reason why you didn't see the tarps. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is great :) I look forward to visit the Children's Museum again soon and write a much better post. Keep up the good work!
